Stress         Tension          Disease

Stress is a fact of life. We simply can’t control all of the unpredictable and sometimes unpleasant surprises that pop up in our path. Thankfully, our bodies have a wonderful built-in system for handling stress. Hormones travel at lightning speed to organize a high alert and give us the ‘fight or flight’ strength and energy we need to face the situation. This impressive response system, however, is not intended for continuous full-throttle use. An onslaught of unending stress takes a heavy toll on our bodies.

According to WebMD, 43% of all adults suffer adverse health effects from stress, and 75-90% of all doctor's office visits are for stress-related ailments and complaints. How often do you experience headaches, tension, elevated blood pressure, upset stomach, problems sleeping, or even chest pain? These symptoms, only a few of the many effects of stress, basically ‘dis’ the ease we feel in our body, hence leading to dis-ease.

Does stress really cause disease? The Merriam-Webster medical dictionary defines the word ‘stress’ as a physical, chemical, or emotional factor that causes bodily or mental tension and may be a factor in disease causation. Perhaps it’s no irony that the word distress, when pronounced with a long “I” sound, becomes die-stress. It’s not a stretch to say that people die from stress.

Managing stress is not simple. It may take a lot of research and experimenting to find tactics that work best for you. A good first step is to perform your own stress self exam. Find a quiet space. Take steady, deep breaths as you focus attention on each body part, slowly working from the bottom of your feet up to the top of your head. Do you notice any discomfort or tension (dis-ease)? Do you notice any pain (di-stress)?

Discomfort, tension, pain and other symptoms that are caused by stress may only be a nuisance now, but they are likely to grow into bigger problems. The economic turmoil is nothing compared to the stress you could experience dealing with serious health issues. Take action now. Get your body in balance and experience the joy that comes with maintaining health and wellness. You can and will feel better now and in the days to come.

MedX Core Spinal Fitness System

The history of the MedX name has only become more reputable thanks to Arthur Jones, the legendary founder of Nautilus equipment. In 2002, he transformed the rehabilitation field by creating a series of biomechanically precise machines to provide a solid foundation for whole-body strength. Thus, the MedX Core Spinal Fitness System was born.

Through years of development and testing, validated by independent research teams at the University of Florida, MedX has perfected their equipment to specifically target, isolate, stretch and strengthen the core muscles of the spine. Their equipment has helped tens of thousands of people around the world prevent or eliminate neck and back pain.

Dr. Mancini has implemented the MedX Core Spinal Fitness System not only because of its reputation, but because he already has two years of MedX expertise and has seen the results. Through his doctor supervision and vast knowledge of medical rehabilitation, you will see results, too.

Benessere offers the following two membership programs, which allow members to walk-in during designated hours to perform doctor-supervised rehabilitation and training using the MedX Core Spinal Fitness System:

You will not find this equipment in your local gym. Benessere Body in Balance is the best place in town to get doctor-supervised exercise to strengthen and maintain optimal body performance for an overall healthier lifestyle.

It’s time to say goodbye to old injuries, neck pain and back pain. Make your appointment today—use the coupon below for a FREE session—and experience how MedX can help you get strong to the core.
